www.eurostampa.com www.eurostampa.com From premium label design and production to a people-first culture to an industry-leading sustainability initiative, “innovation” drives all aspects of Eurostampa’s business. One of the leading global suppliers of high-quality labels for the premium spirits and food industry, Eurostampa has six production facilities throughout North America and Europe – including headquarters in Bene Vagienna, Italy, and Cincinnati, OH, USA. The company’s mission to “create beauty that inspires emotions” is made possible only by its people’s passion to elevate the standards of what a label can be. Family has been at the heart of Eurostampa’s business since Luciano Cillario started the company in 1966 in Italy. After running the business for almost 60 years, Cillario turned the business over earlier this year to his sons, Gianmario (chief executive officer), Gianfranco (head of European facilities), and Giuseppe (global sales and marketing director). As the company expanded globally over the past 20 years, the Cillarios, who employ 1,100 globally, continue to promote a company culture focused on creating a strong sense of belonging and personal fulfillment so employees can grow and thrive, both in their professional and personal lives. According to Eurostampa founder Luciano Cillario, “Our growth is not aimed at profit maximization, but rather at our ability to offer excellent products and services. Our mission is made possible by our people sharing a mutual respect, a dedication, and a passion for a work artfully done.” The company was recently recognized as one of the “Top Workplaces in North America” for the Cincinnati region by The Enquirer. Based on direct employee feedback and the EnergageWorkplace Survey, the “Top Workplace” award is given to only a handful of companies in each region annually. For 2023, over 4,000 companies applied in the Cincinnati region, with Eurostampa earning the designation in its first year of applying. “It’s an honor for us to be recognized by our employees,” says Eugenia Chacon, chief innovation and communications officer for Eurostampa North America. “We are proud to create a company culture that distinguishes itself through creating a strong sense of belonging and personal fulfillment.” In addition to developing a passionate team, Eurostampa attributes its sustained growth and success to its loyal customers and key supplier partnerships. Focused on achieving the highest level of service, each of Eurostampa’s production facilities is strategically located near its customers. Its global headquarters in Bene Vaggiena, Italy, services the rich wine and premium food products of the area, in addition to many European premium spirits. While this location served as Eurostampa’s only location for its first 40 years, rapid expansion started in 2007 when it opened its North American headquarters in Cincinnati, OH. Eurostampa chose this location based on its proximity to the “Bourbon Trail” in Kentucky and its central location to efficiently support the East Coast of the US. Each site that followed was a deliberate choice for its customers: Glasgow, Scotland, for Scotch manufacturers; Touverac, France, for Champagne and Cognac producers in addition to premium cosmetics and perfume; Guadalajara, Mexico, to service tequila and mezcal industries; and most recently, Napa, CA, for the area’s lush wineries and the state’s prolific cosmetics industry. Eurostampa’s efforts to provide superior quality and service also extend to its choices in partnering with specific equipment suppliers. “Heidelberg, Gallus, Omet, HP, and A B Graphic International have been fundamental to allowing us to move forward and offer the highest quality labels to our global customers,” notes Chacon. “Without them, our mission to create beauty that inspires would not be possible.” Due to their products, Eurostampa’s customers often select uncoated and specialty substrates for their labels that can be difficult to run flexographically. The engineering team at Eurostampa works alongside its suppliers to develop bespoke equipment solutions to serve the different demands of its customers best. Chacon says that the ability to run flexo and offset together with foil and embossing – all inline, in one pass – means Gallus hybrid presses consistently produce high-quality results – even on challenging substrates. “For us, having the right equipment is key to growth,” she adds. Focused on producing the most premium labels in the market, Eurostampa invests in new equipment every year to challenge itself to improve its quality and capabilities continuously. The company continues to test new and better ways to elevate offset, flexo, and digital printing standards. To be the innovation leader in all production areas, the company believes that “creating beauty” extends beyond the printed label. Eurostampa pioneered many sustainability initiatives several years ago. According to Chacon, “Our productivity and sustainability goals are intrinsically related. The more efficient we become in our production processes, the less emissions we create.” Working tirelessly to reduce its direct emissions – and selecting suppliers who do the same – throughout the past few years, Eurostampa became Carbon Neutral Scope 1 and 2 across all its facilities this year, based on the emissions of 2022. The company, unsatisfied with these efforts alone, also invested in solar panels this year for its two headquarters, which will supply 10-20% of its energy demands. Eurostampa is also aiming to begin producing its energy for other facilities in the future. “We strongly believe that a label is the single most valuable packaging and marketing asset a brand can have,” states Chacon. Looking ahead, Eurostampa wants to continue to pursue the mission it set forth nearly 60 years ago – redefining and elevating the standards for labels. “We’ll keep pushing for that while remaining a family-owned company that invests in new resources to stay a leader in quality, service, and, of course, innovation – in a sustainable way.”
